Launching on Patreon: Of Cats, Spirits and Queer Histories

- Translating old Chinese texts for cat aficionados. (Yes, there are a number of those from the Qing Dynasty.) In 2022, we will bring you selections from the classical “Cat Reading Guide”. Come enjoy metaphoric descriptions of cat coat patterns, such as “Black Clouds Over Snow”. Learn cat physiognomy from the ancients. Did you know a long-faced cat will eat your chickens? ;-D
- Sharing LGBTQIA+ stories from antiquity, with a focus on non-European traditions.
- Translating supernatural tales that make room for asexual, queerplatonic or homoromantic relationships. In other words, we bring you folktales that go beyond heteronormative, cisgender, allosexual and alloromantic norms.
- Curating themed collections of folktales and histories. In December 2021, we are bringing you Epidemic Fairytales- supernatural tales set in times of pestilence. Our storytelling approach combines summarized accounts and direct translation.
