China’s regional cats
- The Kinds of Cats, according to the 19th century “Cat Garden” – includes flying cats with wings from India
- Jianzhou Four-eared Cats – With “one pair of ears listening to the heavens, the other pair listening to the earth”, these legendary cats were honored as divine felines.
- Lion Cats – the Shandong Lion Cat is said to be descended from foreign long haired cats from Western Asia, and native Shandong cats. It is mentioned in medieval records.
- Jinhua Cats – domestic cats from the Jinhua region of Zhejian can absorb the power of the moon and and become shapeshifters
